Let's clarify thatc.p: a rather old laptop. Probably not good for anything except maybe a low end linux box, or maybe if you wanted to run an old OS for some legacy purpose. (Testing or something.) You also might be able to salvage some parts from it if you needed them for another old machine, though if this is in working condition, I don't see why you'd do so.

Just like to echo post 6, it wouldn't be the best computer by a longshot for an average user, but if post 4 is looking for a laptop I could almost defenetely dig something a bit better out for you.
